In this role you will set the course for Aalto Data Warehouse architecture and development activities. You look actively for new technologies and possibilities to transform Aalto Data Warehouse to digital age, and you will take direct responsibility of further developing our Data Warehouse. You will drive the Aalto Data Warehouse platform architectures - both in-house and Azure cloud - and best practices to ensure that Aalto Data Warehouse functions well according to the latest standards.

Your Responsibilities
- Conception, design, development, and deployment of data architecture and data models
- Provide direction for the architectural design and modeling of DW
- Work together with Aalto Data Warehouse solution owner to develop data warehouse platform vision, strategy, and roadmap
- Follow various ETL Processes to prepare design for all metadata
- Contribute to actual development of MS SQL Data Warehouse and related activities
- Encourage the adoption of Aalto Data Warehouse framework by providing documentation, training, sample code, and developer support
Your experience and ambitions
In order to succeed and enjoy working in this position, we hope you have :
- A few years' experience in modeling and architectural work, preferably in DW area
- Good understanding of planning and implementation of IT data models according to latest best practices
- Experience of data modeling techniques, for example Data Vault or dimensional model
- Knowledge - or interest - in contributing to data security, data integration, and data operations during requirement definition and design phases
- Experience in working in DevOps role is a plus - the DW team works using agile methods.
As a person, we wish you are collaborative and communicative. We hope you enjoy working in collaboration with diverse stakeholders throughout the university as well as with IT vendors and have the ability to find the common ground to deliver results. You are an analytical thinker who can easily see the bigger picture. Also, we hope you have the ability to communicate in English, whereas Finnish is not a must but considered as an advantage.
Earlier you might have worked as an IT architect, Computer Scientist or Database specialist focusing on Data Warehouse. However, you can succeed and enjoy working in this position coming from many different backgrounds. You collaborate and communicate naturally with other IT professionals, as well as customers and academics.
