Reporting to the Principal Technologist – Foods/Flavours, this role will be developing new and modifying existing formulations for Tatua’s Foods and Flavours businesses (including whipping creams, fermented cream products, aerosol creams, and enzyme modified flavours). It combines intellectual capabilities and hands on activities with trials carried out in the lab, pilot plant, and factory. Ensuring results are analysed, reports written, and stakeholders aligned are important aspects to the role. To add even more to the role’s diversity, broader aspects involve early-stage identification of potential NPD products, testing ingredients in applications, collaborating with academia, staying up to date with the latest technical developments, supporting capital projects for our pilot plant, and late-stage engagement with commercial partners on product issues. Key Skills required:
- Dairy or Food Technology experience in R&D;
- Preferably flavour industry experience with strong ability to taste and discriminate sensory properties of products;
- Exposure to the use of enzymes in food manufacture is an advantage;
- A Food Technology, Science, or Engineering degree is anticipated;
- A contributor who enjoys showing initiative, sharing ideas, and adding to the energy and acumen of the high performing team.
